Come Play - Lore that's yours
Don't be frightened. You have found us.
Every face in the Haunt was made by someone and kept by someone.
Hazidel and YipYap came first, but that is all it means. They are faces among many, and yours belongs here just as much. If you want to come play, etch your own. If not, we always love visitors.

Build Your Lore
You have a unique story within the dark and macabre. We want to know it. Whether you have one face or many, whether you have been to one event or too many to count, keep the record of your personal lore.
On your Profile you can:
Collect and Display Marks:
Marks are how the Haunt remembers where you have been and what you have done.
- Scan QR codes at participating Events
- Engage in the community online
- Awarded from participating Haunts
Connect with other Macabre Souls:
Connecting opens the door to your lore. Only connect with people you know.
- You decide who can see what
- Your lore is protected
- Message with connections within the Haunt
Create Characters:
Fans can keep and follow the lore of your Characters without opening the door to you.
- Capture the journey they take
- Post as your Character
- Promote events where fans can meet them
Save events to your Timeline:
There is not a Mark for every event ~ That doesn't mean it is any less important.
- Add past Haunt Seasons
- Track your industry experience
- Separate the big events from daily posts
Remember:
~ A Mark is a memory, not a score. Nobody is ranked by them, and nobody is behind for having fewer.
~ Kids are welcome to explore the Haunt with their parent. Note that not all features are available to minors and a connected adult is required for anyone under 18.
Creating a Character
There are many different ways to create and classify characters. Whatever you have found that works best for you is right. Shared language can still help us understand each other's intent. We have created a system that works for us and that we use for our characters. It is never required to choose these, but if you do, it adds a way for people to find your character.
A character made in your first season is not the same character in your fifth, and their story is meant to grow with you. You can carry more than one face. Some haunters have a single character they have played for years. Some have a whole cast. Some have none at all: the ones running the queue, the ticket booth, and the safety walk are the show too, and a profile without a character is never unfinished.
Choosing a Nature and a Type is optional; take it or leave it. If you do, others can find characters like yours. Search for "gleeful keepers" and see who answers.
Choose Their Nature
Nature is how a character carries themselves. It is a baseline, not a cage. A Hollow character can still be fast or loud when the scene calls for it.
- Gleeful
- ~ Loud, playful, disarming. They enjoy the darkness.
- Hollow
- ~ Quiet, slow, patient. They are part of the shadows.
- Feral
- ~ Fast, physical, unrestrained. Visitors can't escape them.
- Volatile
- ~ Shifting, unpredictable. They change in front of you.
Choose How They Haunt
There are many ways a character meets their visitors. In the Haunt we work together, mixing these types to take a group from terrified, to giggles, to screams again. What is your baseline?
- Stalker
- ~ Follows, pursues, closes distance. Yes, they're watching you.
- Charmer
- ~ Talks, invites, draws you deeper. You follow, you can't help it.
- Keeper
- ~ Holds space, tends and cares. Relax, you're safe. Until you're not.
- Drifter
- ~ Roams, joins groups, disappears. No knowing where to find them.
| Gleeful | Hollow | Feral | Volatile | |
|---|---|---|---|---|

| Charmer |

Hazidel is a Gleeful Keeper. YipYap is a Volatile Charmer, and her cat, who has no name yet, is a Feral Stalker. Scratches, the friend Hazidel patched back together, is a Hollow Drifter.
Character Interactions
You choose who can see your characters, they can be kept private, shared with connections, or visible to all Haunted 365 users.
When someone chooses to keep your character's story, your character collects them. They will see where your character turns up next and the lore you add along the way. No counts are shown, anywhere. A story is not worth more because more people hold it.
Lore can intertwine. When another haunter tags your character in their story, it stays a fan story until you decide. Approve it and it joins your character's lore. Leave it as fan work and it stays theirs. Your character's canon is always yours.

Understanding the Cards
Characters are the backbone of haunted houses, and we don't always get to hear their stories. We decided to create cards from Haunted 365 users and our Haunt members as a fun way to celebrate the different characters people create.
What the Icons mean
Where they come from:
- Dreadful Damsels Characters
- User ~ a character created by a haunter in the community.
- Attraction ~ a character that belongs to a haunt itself and stays with it from season to season, whoever wears the face.
Informational:
- Character identifiers ~ Nature, Type, and pronouns, chosen by the creator.
- Haunted 365 guide ~ follow the link to find the character in the Haunt online.
- Community ~ use the details to connect with the creator.
The icon is information, not rank. No face here matters more than another.
The front of the card
Here we see the character. It could be through photos of actors or dolls, 2D or 3D artwork, or anything in between. The little gravestone shows the avatar and character handle, added from Haunted 365 to help users find and keep the character's story.
- Character's name
- Photo or Artwork of the Character
- Character's avatar
- Character's signature
- Where they came from, their Haunted 365 name, and who created them
The back of the card
Here we see the gravestone as it would appear in the Haunt Graveyard: the stone where the name and a drop of lore are held.
- Character's name
- Character's tagline
- Assigned Nature and Type, and Character's pronouns
- A bit of Lore: Written or selected by the creator
- The guide: Always the Haunted 365 URL
- Community: how to reach their creator
Etch your stone
Your character's stone carries a name, a tagline, pronouns, and their story.
Can't make it to a booth? Print a blank stone at home. Each sheet holds two cards at trading card size: print at actual size, cut along the dashed lines, fold at the marks, and glue the halves together.
